An intensive four-day educational experience combining approximately 40 orthognathic surgical procedures, live operating-theater observation, 3D virtual planning and focused instruction from experienced surgeons.

About the Course

The well-established Bruges 3D Orthognathic Surgery Course offers residents an opportunity to observe surgery in the operating theater and participate in instructional lectures on three-dimensional planning and orthognathic surgical strategies.

The 12 participants will be divided into two groups of six, creating a focused learning environment with access to daily live surgeries, educational lectures and interactive discussions.

Who May Attend

This course is exclusively for EACMFS or IAOMS trainee members.

Attendance is limited to 12 residents. Applicants must submit a certificate confirming current EACMFS or IAOMS trainee membership and a letter from their department chair confirming their trainee status.

Scientific Program

Day 1

  • Demonstration of a 3D work-up and virtual planning
  • Clinically focused 3D virtual planning
  • Minimally invasive orthognathic surgery
  • Live orthognathic surgeries and interactive discussion

Day 2

  • Lecture on temporomandibular joint prostheses
  • Live orthognathic surgeries and interactive discussion

Day 3

  • Live orthognathic surgeries and interactive discussion

Day 4

  • Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in relation to orthognathic surgery
  • Live orthognathic surgeries and interactive discussion

Registration and Course Details

Course Fee

€1,895

The registration fee includes:

  • Four days of live surgery observation and lectures
  • Daily evening social activities
  • Shuttle service between the hotel, hospital and social activities

Accommodation

Participants are encouraged to stay at the Golden Tree Hotel .

Notify the course organizers if you would like them to arrange your booking. Accommodation is not included in the course fee.

Rate: €128 per night, including breakfast, plus a city tax of €5 per person per night.
