Orofacial pain presents a significant clinical burden within oral and maxillofacial surgery practice, yet its diverse mechanisms and overlapping presentations can make diagnosis and management challenging.
In this IAOMS webinar, Professor Peter Svensson will guide participants through current classification systems and why they matter for clinical decision-making, the key mechanisms underlying different types of orofacial pain, and the clinical clues that help distinguish them.
The session will also explore how clinicians can move beyond a one-size-fits-all model toward more individualized patient care.

Professor Svensson brings more than three decades of research and clinical leadership in orofacial pain, including co-development of international classification systems and guidelines for pain, headache, orofacial pain, and bruxism. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation and has authored more than 600 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Marina Morante Silva will moderate this IAOMS webinar and facilitate the discussion with Professor Svensson.
