Dr. Fattahi is a Professor of Surgery and the Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Fattahi has been at UF since 2002. After attending dental school, he completed medical school and his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Upon finishing his residency, he enrolled in a one-year Facial Aesthetic Surgery fellowship in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Fattahi’s practice currently includes facial aesthetic surgery, orthognathic surgery, and maxillofacial trauma. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has authored multiple book chapters and manuscripts over the past 22 years while a faculty member at the University of Florida.

 

Nardy Casap D.M.D., M.D. is a full professor and chairman of the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel. After completion of his residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hadassah Medical Center, he spent two years in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, San-Francisco. Prof. Casap is a Member-At-Large on the Executive Committee of IAOMS since 2021. He serves as a member of various committees of the IAOMS, including the education committee, podcast committee, webinar committee and IAOMS strategic committee. He was a member of the organizing committee of the 2021 ICOMS that was planned to take place in Glasgow, and a member of the academic committee of the upcoming 2023 ICOMS of Vancouver. Dr. Srinivasa Chandra Bio

Dr. Srinivasa Chandra specializes in performing surgical procedures related to the mouth, jaw, and face. He possesses extensive knowledge and skill in the field of oral and head and neck cancer, as well as microvascular reconstruction, which involves the surgical reshaping or rebuilding of various portions of the mouth, head, or neck. In addition, his area of expertise encompasses vascular lesions such as birthmarks and other abnormalities in blood vessels, craniofacial trauma involving injuries to the face, neck, scalp, skull, and eye, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland and facial pathology, including tumors and disorders. Dr. Chandra's research has been published in reputable journals like Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America, Journal of Vascular Surgery, and Gland Surgery. Prof. Majeed Rana is presently serving as the senior physician and deputy head of the department for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the University Hospital Dusseldorf. Additionally, he holds the position of Chair for the IAOMS Education Committee. His study focuses on the computer-assisted development of patient-specific implants, cancer patients' quality of life and the deployment of workflows for intraoperative 3D mapping in midface and cranial base tumor procedures.

Prof. Sabine Girod

Dr. Sabine Girod is Professor emerita of Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Stanford. She trained in Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery in Germany and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Harvard Medical School) in Boston. Her special clinical and research interests are maxillofacial trauma, corrective surgery of maxillofacial deformities, and minimally invasive Computer Aided Surgery. She is one of the co-founders of surgeON, a community of surgeons, by surgeons, for surgeons – a live and on-demand open streaming platform that offers a wide range of peer reviewed educational content specifically tailored to the needs of surgeons in Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) surgery.

Professor Rana grew up in a small village near Frankfurt am Main in Germany. After his A-Level he decided to attend a career as medical officer in the German armed forces. After his duty and finishing his studies, he was trained in Aachen, Hannover and Hamburg.One key moment in his life was the surgery of a small boy with craniosynostosis. He and his colleagues used 3D computer assisted design and additive manufacturing to develop and use a patient individual implant made of lactose. With this process he realized what potential is within this combination of methods.Currently he is he senior physician and deputy head of the department for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at university hospital Dusseldorf. His main points of efforts in research are the computer assisted development of resorbable patient individual implants made of new alloys. Also, the quality of life of cancer patients and the implementation of workflows for intraoperative 3D mapping within midface and cranium base tumour surgeries are valuable research fields..

Florian M. Thieringer is Chair and Full Professor for Oral and Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgeon and a Medical 3D Expert at the University Hospital Basel (UHBS) and the University of Basel, Switzerland. Besides his clinical expertise in facial trauma, tumor, orthognathic and reconstructive surgery, he leads the Medical Additive Manufacturing Research Group (Swiss MAM) at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Basel, and serves as Co-Director of the multidisciplinary 3D Print Lab at the point-of-care, UHBS. Thieringer is internationally recognized for his work in computer-assisted surgery and medical additive manufacturing. As Co-Principal Investigator of the MIRACLE II project, he contributes to developing a robotic endoscope for contact-free bone surgery and patient-specific implants. He is also a board member of the University Hospital Basel flagship project, "Innovation Focus Regenerative Surgery.

Prof Dr Dr hc Julio Acero MD, DMD, PhD, FEBOMFS FDSRCS FIBCSOMS FBLACIBU Julio Acero is the Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Ramon y Cajal and the Puerta de Hierro University Hospitals in Madrid, Spain, Full Professor of Surgery at the Alcala University of Madrid. He studied Medicine and Dentistry and obtained his PhD at the university in Madrid being distinguished as Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Iasi, Romania and by the National University of Athens, Greece. Fellow Ad eundem of the Royal College of Surgeons of England as well as Fellow and Examiner of the International Board for the Certification of Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (IBCSOMS). Prof Acero is a Member of the Spanish National Academy of Dental Sciences and foreign Member of the National Academy of Dentistry of Argentina. His special fields of interest are oncologic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck including the skull base and salivary gland pathology, as well as bone regeneration. He has lectured and published widely in these fields and has been appointed as invited Professor in different universities around the world including the official appointments of External Full Professor of the National University of Athens (Greece), Honorary Professor at the University of Ferrara (Italy), the University of Belgrade (Serbia), the University of Bucharest (Romania) and the National University of Nordeste (Corrientes, Argentina). Dr. Richard Su currently works as Clinical Professor and Chief of Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. He is an Education Committee member of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. His main interests include oral and maxillofacial oncology, microsurgical reconstruction, and salivary gland diseases, with special focus on computer-assisted surgery and 3D printing in head and neck reconstruction.

Dr. David Powers Bio

Dr. David Powers currently is a Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery; Division of Plastic, Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He holds secondary appointments as a Professor of Surgery in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences. Dr. Powers serves as Director of the Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Program, and Fellowship Director for the Craniomaxillofacial Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. He holds national leadership positions on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the AO CMF North America and SORG North America. Dr. Powers also serves as a representative to the Central Committee on Trauma for the American College of Surgeons. He attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate and dental degrees, the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio for his medical degree and completed his General Surgery internship and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. His surgical experience in facial trauma was attained during a 21-year military career highlighted by the acute management of ballistic and other injuries of warfare, as well as performing secondary and tertiary facial reconstructive surgery during various staff assignments at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, the National Naval Medical Center – Bethesda and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He lectures and has published extensively on the management of ballistic and high- energy transfer injuries to the craniomaxillofacial skeleton, comprehensive reconstruction techniques for facial trauma, and the use of computer-aided surgical planning and patient- specific implants for anatomic rehabilitation after catastrophic craniomaxillofacial injuries.

Dr. Bell is a fellowship trained oral and maxillofacial/head and neck oncologic surgeon, whose clinical practice is focused on the comprehensive surgical management of patients with head and neck cancer, including tumors of the oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx, thyroid and skull base. His primary research interest is in developing novel approaches to enhance the effectiveness of surgery for the treatment of head and neck cancer. His work has been published in more than 150 scientific articles and book chapters and he is co-author of two major textbooks published by Elsevier, including "Oral, Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery". Dr. Bell is currently Physician Executive and Director, Division of Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Clinical Programs for Providence Cancer Institute- Oregon; Medical Director of the Providence Head and Neck Cancer Program; and Member and Director of Surgical Oncology Research at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute, a division of the Providence Cancer Institute.

Prof. Nkenke is Professor and head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery. The clinical interests of Prof. Nkenke are cleft lip and palate surgery, reconstructive surgery and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Olufemi Erinoso is a final year accredited OMFS trainee in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (NAOMS), IAOMS and the NextGen Council. Dr Erinoso has been actively involved in clinical research in Nigeria, with a strong interest in craniofacial/cleft research and head and neck surgery.
